Established in 1992, the Cleveland Wheelchair Cavaliers partners with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland Clinic and Invacare Top End to compete on a national level as part of the National Wheelchair Basketball Association. The team is comprised of residents from throughout NE Ohio. In 2010, the Cleveland Wheelchair Cavaliers won the National Wheelchair Basketball Association Division 3 National Championship.
The Cleveland Wheelchair Cavaliers mission is to make a difference in the community by helping educate and provide opportunities to children and newly injured adults with disabilities.
The Cleveland Wheelchair Cavaliers accomplish their mission by building awareness through various outreach efforts in the community including halftime appearances, speaking at schools/community organizations, performing demonstrations, competing at the highest level and continue bringing championships to the Cavaliers organization and the people of (greater) Cleveland.
